Camp
On Thursday we went abseiling down a hill. It was scary at the start and exciting at the end. We also played on the water slide. I went down it 3 times. We went for a walk to the beach and the water was cold. We saw exciting fish in the water and little fish in the little pools at the beach.

ON THURSDAY WE WENT ABSEILING. WHEN WE GOT THERE WE HAD TO PUT HARNESSES ON AND A CARIBINA. WHEN WE FINISHED WE WENT ON THE AMAZING WATER SLIDE .THEN WE WENT FOR A WALK TO THE BEACH.

THE CAMP 11Km WALK
On camp I went to Apple Tree Bay. It was a long walk there. We went swimming in the sea it was INCREDIBLY COLD!!! We caught starfish and crabs and also Richard found a seahorse skeleton. The air was warm. On the walk it was shady and in places it was open and sunny. The beach had golden sand and the water was blue and COLD!!! On the way back Tom lost his cap down a cliff. At the end we were all cheering for Tom.

THE WALK TO THE BEACH
On camp we all walked 11km. The walk that we did was so hot but when we got to the beach and hopped in it was FREEZING. I felt like an ice berg but after a while it was okay. Then someone found two starfish and then heaps of people found heaps of crabs. Oh did I say that the sand was golden and the water was flat and blue.

I entered the competition and I got them all write but I didn’t win the draw. My favourite part was when he blew up the bubble and when he shrunk the balloon and then made it grow back to its normal size.

My favourite thing they did was the beach ball filled with gases then they made bubbles and blew them up with a rod with a flame on the end. My favourite thing you could do was the zigzag line with all the balls.

Wow there was sound stuff and there was a welding mask and a light facing it. When I put it on the light turned green and the rest turned black. Then I did some thing that you lift-up or push down then I went on the bed of nails.

THE SCIENCE ROADSHOW
I’m sitting down in the hall then some people started to do magic tricks then we did this test it was so hard. Ocean won and so did Chloe, Leyton and Jake. They got 3d glasses. I wanted to get them but better luck next time .I also learnt that different forces can do lots of things like blow up a ball and pop a balloon. I went on the bed of nails at the start I thought it would hurt but it didn’t.

On Thursday we went to a science road show. I liked where they blew the bubble up and it made a big noise I think that it was cool. I got all for stamps and you had to write your name on the card and put it in the box. After that some other people came from another school came.

Science Roadshow

Kapa Haka Festival

First of all we got on the bus and went to Greymouth Regent Theatre for the Kapa Haka Festival to perform. We found our seating and and watched about 4 shows before we performed. We think that our performance was better than all of them. We walked up the stairs into a tiny little room on the top of the Regent Theatre then we were on stage. The curtains opened and we started to sing "E paru e ti to" then we had all the songs until the haka. We started the haka, we loved it, we finshed the whole bracket. Then we went back to school. School was over we had missed a whole day of school.

HOW I MADE MY LIGHTHOUSE
I had to use a hand sanatiser container then I had to use a pretzil container. I had to wrap paper around the pretzil container. Then I had to cut a hole in the hand sanitiser lid. then I cut the windows in it. Then I put the torch in.Then I turned it on and it looked awesome. By Harrison

On Thursday 5 students from Westland High School came to teach us some games. We played bullrush and T Ball. We all had fun.

I got air on my motorbike it felt awesome but the second time I got air I did an awesome
no footer. My hand had grip with the hand guards and it was scary but I almost came off.

SKIING
AT THE FIELD I WENT ON THE POMMA. I WENT TO GO AND SIT DOWN ON IT AND I FELL OF AND I WAS TERRIFIED. WHEN I WENT UP T3 I WAS AMAZED. I WAS AMAZED HOW HIGH WE WERE.

SKIING
WHEN I GOT TO THE SKI FIELD I WAS VERY EXCITED TO BE THERE AND I SAW TWO SNOWBOADERS GOING DOWN T1. I HAD MY LESSON ON T1. IT WAS FUN SKIING ON THE SKI FIELD AND IT GOT VERY, VERY, WILD, WILD WINDY. IT WAS VERY SCARY ON THE SKI FIELD.

SKIING
A FEW DAYS AGO I WENT TO PORTER HEIGHTS AND IT WAS VERY WINDY. WHEN I GOT THERE I NEARLY BLEW OF THE SIDE. WHEN I GOT MY SKIS AND BOOTS I WAS READY TO HIT THE SLOPES. I FIRST TRIED TO GO ON T1. I FELL OFF A FEW TIMES. AND THEN I WENT OVER TO THE POMMA AND HAD A FEW GOES ON THAT. AND I WENT UP TO T2 AND I HAD TO SKI OVER TO THE T BAR THAT GOES UP TO T3. I WENT RIGHT UP TO THE TOP IT WAS AN AMAZING VIEW. IT WAS A REALLY GOOD SKI DOWN.

Last term we had a school disco. We dressed up as something that started with 'P' or a TV, Moviestar character. Bradley was dressed as a pirate and he won a prize. David came third in then limbo competition.We all had good fun.

We have been writing poems about the West Coast. We also used the Alphabet Thinking Key to write West Coast words. Some of us made a West Coast wordle on the computer .

On Friday Bishop Barry visited our school. He came to our classroom and talked to us.

Last week we watched a show called Old MacDoanld had a farm. The show was awesome. It was very funny especially when the dog chased Miss Pomare and Mrs Beaumont.

Last week we went to see Harold and he taught us about our personality. We made up a poem about our personality.He also taught us about our bodies.

We had a book fair in our Library. We are enjoying reading some of the books.

We were able to buy the books.

Our School Cross Country

On Tuesday our school had the Cross Country. We ran on the Heritage track. In the 9 year old boys Jarod came 1st, David 2nd and Guy 3rd. In the 9 year girls Grace came 2nd. Leyton was 1st in the 8 year boys, Bradon 2nd and Jake 3rd and in the 8 year girls race Maggie 1st, Kate 2nd and Indica 3rd.
